Associate of Occupational Science in Aviation Maintenance Technology (AOS):
This program is designed to not only provide you with the proper knowledge and skill levels to excel in aircraft maintenance but you will earn a degree. That degree may lead to job advancement in the future. This training provides you with the proper knowledge and skill levels required to pass the A&P license tests administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). With the exception of general education, courses in this program are FAA approved.

Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT):
The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to excel as an aircraft mechanic. This training prepares you to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test to become a certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician for employment in aviation maintenance. You are trained to service, repair, and overhaul aircraft components and systems, including the airframe, piston engines, turbine engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, propellers, instrumentation, warning and environmental systems.

The Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer (AMTE) Program takes you through the basics of aircraft mechanics and into the latest technology advances for the world of aviation. Gain the hands-on techniques and knowledge in areas like composite fabrication and repair, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, landing gear, piston and turbine engines and other aircraft systems. Learn the intricacies of the entire aircraft, gaining the skills to properly and efficiently troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems for both fixed wing and rotary aircraft. The training also includes aircraft electrical systems and more advanced aircraft electronics (avionics). Graduate are prepared for both the FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification exam and the FCC Element One and Element Three licensing exam.

Avionics Technician:
If you already have some training or experience in aircraft maintenance or electronics repair, Aviation Institute of Maintenance’s Avionics Technician Program is that perfect next step. The Avionics Technician Program is designed to prepare you for career opportunities in aircraft electricity or aviation electronics systems, troubleshooting and repair. If you do not have previous aircraft maintenance or electronics experience, consider the AMTE program, which is designed to provide the fundamental skills for Airframe and Powerplant maintenance, as well as specific skills and knowledge required for employment in the avionics field.

Advanced Structures Technician:
The Advanced Structures Technician program provides the advanced skills necessary for sheet metal and composites that are presented at a more basic level in the AMT program. The program teaches fabrication, servicing, repair, assembly, and overhaul, as well as laying out designs for manufacture. Students also study complex repairs to contours and restoring structural integrity to critical specifications.
